Five-Star QB Ty Simpson Commits to the University of Alabama

Ty Simpson commits to Alabama

The Crimson Tide fan base got some exciting news Friday afternoon. Ty Simpson announced via CBS Sports that he will be committing to the University of Alabama. This is Alabama’s first five-star commitment for their ‘22 recruiting class

Ty Simpson is a 6’2, 185-pound quarterback out of Martin, Tennessee. He plays for Westview High School and helped the Chargers to a 7-5 season last year. Unfortunately they would get bounced in the first round of the playoffs thanks to South Gibson High School.

Over 35 schools offered Simpson a scholarship, but he narrowed his list down to five schools. Tennessee-Martin, Tennessee, Clemson, Ole Miss, and of course Bama. He was considered a Clemson lean for what felt like forever, but Nick Saban flexed his recruiting muscles once again

He joins Robert Woodyard, Elijah Brown, and Walter Bob in Alabama’s 2022 haul. More importantly he will be following behind the No. 1 recruiting class of All-Time according to 247Sports. That includes names like five-star offensive lineman Tommy Brockermeyer and JC Latham, wide receivers Jacorey Brooks, JoJo Earle, and Agiye Hall. That is just on the offensive side of the ball too. Five-star defenders Ga’Quincy McKinstry, Dallas Turner, and Damon Payne are also coming to Tuscaloosa.

Things have always looked bright for Alabama, and it doesn’t look like that will be changing anytime soon. Ty Simpson’s commitment gives the Crimson Tide amazing depth at the quarterback position once again. It will be exciting to see how Saban and the rest of his coaching staff utilizes all this potential.
