Five-Star WR Carnell Tate Commits to Ohio State

Brian Hartline has done it again. The Ohio State Buckeyes just added yet another five-star wide receiver to their squad. Carnell Tate announced that he will be committing to the Ohio State Buckeyes over schools like Tennessee & LSU.

Carnell Tate is a 6’2, 185-pound wideout from Chicago, Illinois. He transferred to IMG Academy from Marist High School after the global pandemic. 37 schools have offered him thus far but recently Tate was able to narrow that list down to four. Tennessee, Notre Dame, LSU, and of course Ohio State we’re all on his short list of schools.

In his commitment post on social media he included a picture of his middle school graduation saying he wants to graduate from Ohio State. It had always been a dream of his to be a Buckeye and with their trend with WRs as of late, it was a perfect match for Tate.

The Buckeyes can now add Tate to a group of receivers like Caleb Burton, Kyion Grayes, Julian Fleming and Emeka Ebuka. Everyone of these guys could very well be a No. 1 option on pretty much any other P5 team. I wouldn’t be shocked if someone decides it is best to hit the transfer portal in the near future but only time will tell.
