The Auburn Tigers had a very up and down year, and the offseason hasn’t fared any differently. Just days before Early Signing Day the Tigers have landed the commitment of four-star recruit Austin Ausberry. He is now the Auburn Tigers highest rated recruit in the 2022 recruiting cycle.
Austin Ausberry is a four-star cornerback out of University Lab High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. According to 247Sports he stands 6’0, and weighs in at 195-pounds. He is also the No. 22 cornerback in the 2022 recruiting cycle, and the 13th best player in Louisiana. Ausberry has over 20 offers on the table but only visited LSU, and most recently Auburn.
Auburn now has the 32nd overall recruiting class of the ‘22 cycle, but is still 12th in the SEC. Austin Ausberry is now their highest rated recruit along with Caden Story and Holden Geriner. Ausberry & three-star junior college transfer Marquise Gilbert both committed to Auburn today giving a nice boost to the recruiting class.
With Bo Nix in the transfer portal, and a rocky 2021, I would expect things to be very different for the Tigers next season. This will be Bryan Harsin’s first year with his own recruits, and his second with this roster. Dematrius Davis and T.J. Finley will most likely be battling out for the starting job at Auburn.
