Four-Star Wide Receiver Jalen Hale Picks Alabama over Texas & Texas A&M

The Crimson Tide have done an elite job at recruiting this 2023 recruiting cycle, and they aren’t finished yet. Just days after landing four-star defensive lineman Jordan Renaud, Alabama has taken another top talent from East Texas. Four-star wide receiver Jalen Hale announced Wednesday afternoon that he will be joining the Tide’s No. 1 overall recruiting class.

Jalen Hale is the No. 2 WR in the state of Texas, and a Top-40 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle according to Rivals. He plays for Longview High School where he has caught over 2,000 yards, and 27 touchdowns in his career. I have been lucky enough to watch Hale in person multiple times and he really lives up to the hype.

He is a very physical receiver and is not someone that will be losing too many contested catches when given the targets. In the red-zone he has shown to be a mismatch at the high school level. He does have some shiftiness to his game as well. I have watched him on multiple occasions take a short pass for a large gain, or even to the house. Longview uses him in the return game as well just to give an example of his ability to make big plays.

This now gives Alabama a strong hold of the No. 1 overall class in 2023. Texas, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, LSU and Georgia are all bunched together by roughly 2 points but are about 20 points behind Bama in the 247Sports recruiting rankings. With elite talents like Cormani McClain & Keon Keeley still in play for the Tide I find it very hard to believe they don’t walk away with the top class once again.

Alabama’s recruiting class is obviously loaded all around, but the offensive weapons in this class are really starting to pile up. They currently have the No. 2 & No. 3 overall running backs in Richard Young and Justice Haynes. Plus they also have two Top-10 quarterback prospects in Eli Holstein and Dylan Lonergan. Jalen Hale also joins a receiving group of Malik Benson, Cole Adams and Ty Lockwood. Its safe to say the Crimson Tide don’t look to be ending their reign over CFB anytime soon.
