Four-Star WR Talyn Shettron Flips from Oklahoma to Oklahoma State

Talyn Shettron

If you are an Oklahoma State fan you have to be ecstatic with the news that came Wednesday evening. After being committed to the Sooners for eight months four-star wide receiver Talyn Shettron announced he would be flipping to Oklahoma State. Shettron has been one of the Cowboys biggest targets in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

Talyn Shettron is currently rated as the No. 6 wide receiver in the Class of ‘22 and the No. 2 recruit in Oklahoma. He stands 6’3, 185-pounds and also plays basketball and runs track for Edmond Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Oklahoma. Last season he caught 61 catches for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns.

With 19 offers on the table Shettron chose to attend Oklahoma State over schools like Miami, Texas, and Texas A&M. On top of landing Talyn they also landed his brother Tabry Shettron who plays tight end too. Talyn stated that his decision to flip to Oklahoma State was heavily impacted by the opportunity to play with his brother in Stillwater.

The Cowboys 2022 recruiting class is now starting to really fill out on the offensive side of the ball. Four-star running backs Ollie Gordon & C.J. Brown both have been committed to the Pokes for nearly five months. They also have three-star quarterback Garret Rangel to possibly be under center after the Spencer Sanders era is over.

For the Sooners, things are starting to look a little rough at the receiver position this year. This is now the second four-star receiver to decommit from Oklahoma this month after Jordan Hudson did so on June 14th.
