Just a day after landing five-star Texas running back Camar Wheaton, the Crimson Tide stole another recruit out of the state. Former Auburn commit, Jaeden Roberts, announced earlier Christmas Day that he will be joining Alabama’s No. 1 recruiting class.
This is a massive Christmas gift for Nick Saban, both literally and figuratively. Roberts is a four-star offensive guard out of North Shore High School and tips the scales at 6’5, 340-pounds. Out of all the talented and huge offensive linemen currently committed to Alabama, that is the biggest.
Roberts pledged to commit to the University of Auburn along with his four-star quarterback Dematrius Davis. Due to the decision to move on from Guz Malzahn, Roberts backed off his pledge during the Early Signing period. This provided Saban with the perfect opportunity to steal away a key recruit from his arch-rival. Roberts will also join former North Shore offensive lineman, Damieon George.
Jaeden Roberts commitment just adds to the vise-grip of a hold Saban has over the recruiting trails in 2021. This is currently the third best recruiting class of all time, behind the 2017 Alabama class and the 2010 Florida class. Could we see Saban surpass the great 2010 Florida Gators recruiting class? We will have to wait and see!
