Nations No. 2 Offensive Tackle Amarius Mims Commits to Georgia

Amarius Mims

In somewhat not so shocking news, the Georgia Bulldogs finally landed five-star offensive tackle Amarius Mims. The No. 7 overall recruit in the Class of 2021 chose the Bulldogs over schools like Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida State

According to 247Sports, Mims is the 7th best recruit in the nation, and the 2nd best offensive tackle. He plays for Bleckley County High School in Cochran, Georgia. Amarius Mims will join four-star offensive tackle Micah Morris, and help push this 5th ranked SEC recruiting class.

Mims will come into Georgia already with an NFL frame of 6 foot 7 inches and 315-pounds. Even though he tips the scale at over 300-pounds, he has an athletic build with very little fat on him. His length and athletic ability make him a serious problem at the second level of defenses, and looks to be yet another promising offensive lineman for the Bulldogs.

“I felt comfortable in Athens, I felt comfortable around the coaching staff. I felt comfortable around the players. So I feel like I fit in there.” – Amarius Mims

Last season Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs were able to land four ESPN 300 recruits across the offensive line. That haul included the five-star OT Broderick Jones, Tate Ratledge, Sedrick Van Pran, and Chad Lindberg. Their 2020 recruiting class would rank No. 1 overall last year, and their fourth year in a row with a recruiting class in the Top 3.
