After a dramatic and public contract dispute, the New York Jets have finally traded Jamal Adams. Earlier this week we saw the relationship meet its breaking point once Adams publicly questioned the leadership of Joe Douglas, and Adam Gase.
Back in June Jamal Adams gave the Jets a list of seven teams that he would prefer to be traded to. The Ravens, 49ers, and Buccaneers all were on that list but it was ultimately the Seattle Seahawks who put out the best offer and boy was it a big one.
The Seahawks are sending away Bradley McDouglad, a 2021 & 2022 first-round pick, and a 2021 third-round pick for the All-Pro safety and a 2022 fourth-round pick from the Jets. Adams now joins the list of Khalil Mack and Jalen Ramsey of defensive stars that have cost two 1st Round picks.
This trade took a little longer than expected to get finalized due to the adjusted salary cap for this season. Now the ball is in Seattle’s court to reach a long-term deal with Adams, or else they could completely waste the future of their franchise.
