Three-Star LB Kylan Salter Commits to the TCU Horned Frogs

Kylan Salter

Just days after landing four-star running back Cameron Cook the TCU Horned Frogs are back adding to their ‘23 recruiting class. Thursday evening three-star linebacker Kylan Salter announced at TrueBuzz Media Day that he will be committing to TCU. This is now the ninth commitment for the Horned Frogs ’23 recruiting class from the DFW area.

Kylan Salter is a three-star linebacker for Cedar Hill High School down in Cedar Hill, Texas. He currently has 12 offers from schools like Oklahoma State, Colorado & Texas Tech but ultimately chose the Horned Frogs. TCU had been the favorites for Salter for quite some time now, and has done a great job at making sure Salter knew he was a priority for them. Kylan said during his commitment that TCU feels like a family and even with his knee injury the staff never backed off.

This isn’t the first time we have seen a Salter make a name for himself on the football field. Kylan is the younger brother of former four-star prospect, and current Liberty Flames quarterback Kaidon Salter. Kaidon was considered one of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2021. He helped Cedar Hill reach many deep playoff runs, including a 2021 6A state title appearance.

This now gives TCU four commitments in July alone, and 17 total for their ‘23 class. Currently their class is filled with talent from all over the DFW metroplex. Kylan Salter is now the 8th highest rated recruit in this class for TCU right behind Denton Ryan’s Jordan Bailey. This commitment hops TCU over West Virginia in the recruiting rankings and closes the gap on Big-12 schools like Texas Tech and Baylor.
