ESPN’s No. 5 overall recruit in the Class of 2022 has just announced his new home. Fresh off landing five-star defensive end Korey Foreman the USC Trojans continue to haul in defensive talent. Domani Jackson let the country know that he will be choosing USC by posting his commitment video to social media.
Domani Jackson is a 6’1, 195-pound cornerback from Santa Anna, California. He plays football for Mater Dei High School, a west-coast football powerhouse. Jackson is unanimously ranked as the top recruit in the state of California in the ‘22 recruiting cycle. At the 2019 Nike Opening Regional Jackson clocked a 4.51 40-yard dash time.
He chose the Trojans over schools like Arizona State, Clemson, Ohio State and Michigan. This gives the Trojans back to back years of retaining the No. 1 prospect in the state. After missing out on elite talent like Bryce Young, Justin Flowe, Kayvon Thibodueax, and D.J. Uiagalelei; it is a huge deal for USC to start keeping California talent in-state.
The Trojans already have four commitments now for the Class of 2022, and the 7th ranked recruiting class. Jackson joins four-star cornerback Fabian Ross and four-star quarterback Devin Brown. In 2021 they finished with the 8th best recruiting class, and No. 2 in the Pac-12. Clay Helton looks to be gaining steam and is building a rather nice squad down in Southern California.
This could be exactly what the Trojans need to gain control of the Pac-12 once again. Raesjon Davis, four-star linebacker and Mater Dei teammate, is currently a USC lean according to 247Sports. Davis was committed to LSU earlier this year before de-committing back in December. Is Domani Jackson’s commitment enough to sway his fellow Monarch to stay home?
