Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators just stole some talent out of Auburn’s backyard. 4-star outside linebacker, Jeremiah Williams, committed to the Gators over Auburn, Georgia and Oklahoma. Williams, who also goes by the name of Scooby, plays for Ramsay High School in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Birmingham, Alabama product is the third highest recruit to commit to the Gators in their 2021 Class. Though he grew up an Auburn fan, Williams said it was the relationship with Florida’s staff that helped make his decision.
“It just felt like a home away from home.”
Jeremiah Williams joins an already talented group of defensive recruits such as 5-star CB Jason Marshall, 4-star safety Corey Collier, and 4-star defensive lineman Tyreak Sapp. Florida now the nation’s 8th best recruiting class for the 2021 cycle, moving up two slots from Monday morning. They are ranked 4th in the SEC behind Alabama, Georgia and LSU.
Standing 6’3, but only weighing 225-pounds, Williams will have to gain some muscle mass before becoming a real threat off the edge. Expect to see Jeremiah Williams used all over the field for the Florida Gators. He can do a little bit of everything along the front seven and Williams even said Dan Mullen could use him in the slot to cover. Kevin Brown, Williams high school trainer, compares him to former Gator standout Jonathan Greenard.
