It has been 11-years since Chad Morris has been a head coach of a high school football team, and Wednesday morning that streak came to an end. It was announced that Morris would now be the head coach at Allen High School down in Allen, Texas.
Chad Morris is coming off stints at the University of Arkansas and SMU. He most recently was the offensive coordinator at Auburn in 2020, but now has decided to return to Texas. He was 169-36 as a high school football head coach in Texas and bounced around schools for 16-years. He coached two seasons at Lake Travis High School and won two straight state titles with the Cavaliers in ‘08 & ’09.
Last season the Allen Eagles made it to the 6A-I Regional Finals vs Euless Trinity High School but lost 49-45 in a shootout. They went 10-1, and are known for being one of the best football programs in North Texas. They have won at least 10 games in each of the last 15 seasons once again stating just how dominant of a high school program Allen is.
They will be returning some studs for next year too. The offensive line will be held down by three-star offensive guard Neto Umeozulu and Harvard commit Jackson Newville. General Booty and Jaylen Jackson will be returning on the offensive side of the ball as well. I would expect Morris to help Allen get right back into the state championship talks very soon.
