The University of Washington just landed their fourth transfer of the offseason. Ex-Oklahoma defensive back Brendan Radley-Hiles announced he will be transferring to the University of Washington Tuesday night. He will have two years of eligibility left to use in Seattle.
Brendan had announced his decision to transfer from the Oklahoma Sooners at the beginning of the month. He was a three-year starter for the Sooners and was a big piece to their defense. Many teammates and coaches praised his work ethic, and football ability.
Back in 2018 Brendan Radley-Hiles was regarded as one of the top cornerbacks in the nation. Both Rivals, and 247Sports ranked him as a top-five cornerback in the Class of 2018, as well as a top-10 prospect in the state of Florida. He held offers from all over the country including schools like Arizona State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and UCLA.
Despite being labeled a Florida athlete, BRH was actually born in Inglewood, California. He bounced around prep academies like Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas and IMG Academy in Bradenton. Before committing to Oklahoma he was committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers for a moment, and now has found his way back to the west coast.
Washington has been able to produce six NFL level defensive backs in the last five years with two more heading this season. Keith Taylor and Elijah Molden both are expected to be solid contributors in the NFL once they are selected. Brendan Radley-Hiles should slide in perfectly to the nickel cornerback role that the Huskies have used. I believe he fits the mold of former Washington Huskies Budda Baker, or Elijah Molden. He can play multiple defensive back positions, and plays hard. Overall I think this is a great decision for Radley-Hiles’ future as an NFL prospect.
