After trailing 6–0 early, Duncanville’s offense awakened. Junior wideout Trenton Yancey opened the scoring with a 1-yard run, and he wasn’t done there — finishing the night with four catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to rushing for 79 yards and two more scores on just three carries. Quarterback J’Coryon Rivers delivered a poised performance, completing 16 of 24 passes for 209 yards and threading three touchdowns into the secondary to set the tone.
On the ground, Duncanville was a wrecking crew — piling up 363 rushing yards on 35 carries, according to the box score, and averaging more than 10 yards per run. That ground dominance allowed the Panthers to control the clock, wear down Heath’s defense, and pull away steadily after halftime.
Meanwhile, the Panther defense was suffocating once the game shifted. After Rockwall-Heath converted early chances into field goals, Duncanville shut them out the rest of the way, limiting the Hawks to just 159 total yards. The Panthers’ pressure forced turnovers, halted drives, and kept Heath out of rhythm on both sides of the ball.
Now, Duncanville advances to the regional semifinals with momentum and confidence. The three-time state champs showed everything you’d expect from a contender: big-play offense, physical running, and a defense that clamps up when it matters most. Rockwall-Heath, on the other hand, must resettle and regroup — their playoff dreams ended in a game where they couldn’t match the Panthers’ firepower.
