Lincoln Riley is back in his bag of tricks, and has pulled off another major commitment. Once again out of Los Alamitos High School in California the Sooners have landed five-star athlete Makai Lemon. This comes just a few weeks after Oklahoma landed five-star quarterback Malachi Nelson out of Los Alamitos High School.
Makai Lemon is a five-star athlete that mainly is known for his play on the offensive side of the ball. Lemon plays at Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California with Malachi Nelson and DeAndre Moore Jr. He currently stands 6’0, 180-pounds and is listed as the 3rd overall athlete in the Class of ‘23. He’s gotten 20 offers thus far in his football career including offers from schools like Alabama, Penn State & USC.
He said that the coaching staff was a huge reason why he felt comfortable committing with the Sooners so early. Lemon was quoted saying he believes Lincoln Riley is a championship caliber coach and the entire coaching staff has great knowledge.
His commitment sets the Sooners up with a lethal lineup already for their 2023 recruiting cycle. They currently have the No. 2 QB, No. 2 TE, No. 3 RB & No. 3 ATH all in the boat already for 2023. This is also a very important commitment as OU currently only has one receiver committed to them in the Class of 2022. Highly rated receivers like Brandon Inniss & Johntay Cook are still considered OU leans as well.
