Notre Dame had a rough day on the recruiting trail Thursday as they got jumped by not just LSU, but now Georgia as well in the Class of ‘22 rankings. The University of Georgia just landed their third five-star commitment, and second five-star athlete, Malaki Starks.
Malaki Starks is a five-star athlete, and ranked as the No. 13 prospect in the Class of 2022. He plays for Jefferson High School in Jefferson, Georgia and helped the Dragons to a 14-1 season last year. Quarterback, running back, cornerback; Malaki did it all for the Dragons.
Every school in the country was in on Starks recruitment. Schools like Notre Dame, LSU, and Florida State were all names of schools that offered him a scholarship. However he was able to narrow down his decision to Alabama, Clemson, and of course the Georgia Bulldogs. Malaki Starks said during his commitment speech that he picked the Bulldogs because of the family feel he feels with the university.
The Bulldogs now have the second ranked recruiting class in the ‘22 cycle. As stated earlier this it their third five-star recruit already committed to Georgia in the ‘22 cycle. Five-star quarterback Gunner Stockton is the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the country. Deyon Bouie is the No. 3 overall athlete in the country. As of right now it is unclear exactly what position Starks will be playing in Athens, but I am confident that he will be able to perform at a high level where ever he decides.
