With the departure of defensive coordinator Brent Venables, Clemson also lost a handful of key recruits. One of them being five-star cornerback Daylen Everette. Earlier Tuesday evening the former Clemson commit announced he will now be a Georgia Bulldog.
This is the Bulldogs 27th commitment in their Class of 2022. He joins elite recruits like Mykel Williams, Jaheim Singletary, and Malaki Starks who will all be on the defensive side of the ball. Everette is also the Bulldogs fourth five-star prospect from the ‘22 recruiting cycle.
Daylen Everette is a 6’1, 185-pound cornerback for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. According to 247Sports he is the No. 6 overall cornerback in the ‘22 cycle, and the 6th best prospect in Florida. He took five visits, his most recent being Alabama the same day he decommitted. Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina, and of course Georgia were his other visits.
We saw Everette open his recruitment backup on December 10th after being committed to Clemson for nearly five months. Georgia was immediately considered a contender for his talents just based off their recruitment of him before he committed to Clemson. Along with the fact Georgia has been able to put together a historic level defense this season.
