The Longhorns have been one of the hottest teams in the nation since Arch Manning announced his commitment to the school. They don’t look to be slowing down either as they just landed yet another elite prospect from the Lonestar state. Malik Muhammad announced at South Oak Cliff High School that he will be committing to the Longhorns.
Malik Muhammad is a five-star cornerback for South Oak Cliff High School in Oak Cliff, Texas. He is currently the No. 5 overall cornerback in the Class of 2023, and the No. 7 prospect in the nation. Malik has over 40 offers but cut his list down to A&M, Alabama and Texas. From what I have heard from my sources the race really came down to Alabama, and Texas but it looks like Steve Sarkisian won this battle over Nick Saban.
Texas now jumps to the 3rd overall recruiting class in the 2023 cycle. Arch Manning’s commitment has helped surge the Longhorns from all the way somewhere inside the Top-40s. Five-star safety Derek Williams is already in the boat as well helping form together a solid group of DBs. With players like Anthony Hill Jr, Cedric Baxter Jr & Javien Toviano still heavily favoring the Longhorns there is a strong chance they land the top class in 2023.
