Oklahoma has seen it’s fair share of athletes removing themselves from the program over the past few days and I wouldn’t expect it to stop anytime soon. Wednesday afternoon the Sooners received another decommitment from their ‘22 recruiting class. Five-star running back Raleek Brown announced earlier Wednesday evening that he will be decommitting from Oklahoma.
Raleek Brown is a five-star running back out of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. It is no surprise that he is decommitting considering that Lincoln Riley was a huge reason why many recruits chose Oklahoma, but also he is an SoCal kid. According to 247Sports Brown is the No. 2 running back in the Class of 2022, as well as the No. 34 overall prospect in the nation. He holds over 30 offers from every school you can imagine but the only school he has been able to visit thus far is USC.
It should be expected for Brown to follow Lincoln Riley to USC. Being at Mater Dei High School Raleek is less than an hour from USC’s campus in Los Angeles. As stated earlier USC is also the only campus he has been able to take an official visit to which probably leans in the Trojans favor.
As of right now the Trojans only have four commits in the boat from the ‘22 cycle and rank last in the Pac-12. His commitment would be huge not only due to the lack of talent they currently have but this would also be the Trojans second year in a row keeping one of the best recruits in house.
