Just last week the Ohio State Buckeyes landed one of their biggest recruits ever in Quinn Ewers. This week they got him one of the best weapons on the market. Earlier Monday evening five-star prospect, and the No. 1 WR in the state of Texas for the Class of 2022 announced he will become a Buckeye.
Even though Burton didn’t play his junior season, the wideout still holds over 40 offers. He tweeted out his Top 12 schools on October 6th which included schools like Alabama, Oregon, Clemson and even Stanford.
The Del Valle, Texas product is currently the No. 4 player in the state of Texas, and the No. 15 overall prospect in 2022. This gives Ohio State two of the top five players currently in the state of Texas for their 2022 recruiting cycle. He also joins a list of players like Gabe Powers, C.J. Hicks, and Dasan McCullough.
Brian Hartline continues to build one of the best wide receiver rooms put together. Ohio State has now come down to Texas to steal the top receiver in the state three of the past four years. One of those receivers is Garrett Wilson, someone who actually has a solid relationship with Burton off the field. To make matters even worse, they stole Quinn Ewers away from the University of Texas.
As a sophomore Caleb Burton had 51 catches for 882 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2018 for Del Valle High School. His junior campaign came to a halt as he suffered a season ending knee injury during his first game. With over a year left till early signing period, this now give the Buckeyes a crazy amount of momentum for the 2022 recruiting cycle.
