Florida Lands 4-Star Safety Donovan McMillon

Donovan McMillon

After trimming his list down on June 1st, decision day has finally come for the nation’s No. 7 overall safety Donovan McMillon. The 4-star prospect took to Twitter to announce that he would be committing to Florida University.

McMillon is a 6’2, 193-pound safety out of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania and attends Peters Township High School. He narrowed his recruitment down to Texas A&M, Oregon, Virginia Tech, Florida, and Oklahoma before ultimately choosing the Gators on Saturday.

In a very creative commitment video, McMillon revealed a pair of custom Jordan 1s with gator skin accents, and “GATORS” tagged on the midsole.

His father told 247Sports that whenever they first visited Gainesville, Donovan immediately felt at home. He also has plenty of family down in the state of Florida, which made committing there much more attractive.

“This is one of the only schools in the country that’s ranked in the top ten academically and athletically.” – Donovan McMillon
