At the end of July Tre’Quan Fegans announced that he would be committing to the University of Miami (FL). He recently decommitted from the hurricanes however, and reopened his recruitment. On Monday morning Fegans announced his decision to stay home and commit to the University of Alabama.
Tre’Quan Fegans is a four-star cornerback out of Alabaster, Alabama where he plays for Thompson High School. Fegans recently transferred to Thompson with his younger brothers this past offseason after being at Oxford High School. He currently stands 6’2, weighs 181-pounds, and has a great football I.Q. at the cornerback position.
27 schools offered Fegans a scholarship, but his decision really came down to about five schools. Obviously Miami, and Alabama but schools like Georgia, South Carolina, and Oklahoma were also names considered. His commitment now gives the Alabama Crimson Tide the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2022 circuit which really surprises no one. Tre’Quan Fegans now joins fellow teammate Jeremiah Alexander as well as Emmanuel Henderson.
Alabama has been read hot in recruiting since September. Just last week the Crimson Tide landed the No. 1 tight end in the ‘22 class in Jaleel Skinner, and a week before that they landed four-star offensive lineman Elijah Prichett. They also had a very successful month of July that helped surge them up the recruiting rankings.
Thompson High School is one of Alabama’s top powerhouse programs and has one of the best defenses in the nation. Their defensive line up currently features names like Jeremiah Alexander, Peter Woods, and Tony Mitchell who are all five-star recruits. Alexander has already been committed to the Tide for awhile, and Tony Mitchell seems to be favoring Alabama as well. Could we see all four of them on the same team again in the near future? Only time will tell.
