Recently four-star safety Braxton Myers announced that he was reopening his recruitment and decommitting from the USC Trojans. This came after a few weeks of speculation that he would do so. As of Thursday evening it looks like Myers has found his new home. After a few weeks of rumors Myers finally announced that he will be committing to the Ole Miss Rebels.
Braxton Myers is a four-star defensive back for Coppell High School. He is 6’0, 185-pounds and plays both cornerback and safety for the Coppell Cowboys. His long frame projects him to be a safety at the next level but Myers has played very well on the outside when asked to do so.
USC was one of the hottest teams in college football over the offseason but as of recently things are starting to trend down. The Trojans headlining commitments of Malachi Nelson and Zachariah Branch are rumored to be leaning towards decommitting from USC and looking elsewhere. Not too long after that, Braxton’s news came out, and now we are here.
This is the Rebels second time dipping into the North Texas area to grab a safety in the 2023 cycle. Three-star safety Daniel Demery committed to Ole Miss back in May who plays for Parish Episcopal School in Dallas. They now have the 30th overall recruiting class in the ‘23 cycle according to 247Sports.
