Four-Star Safety Kendal Daniels Flips from Texas A&M to Oklahoma State

Just a week after announcing his release from his NLI with Texas A&M Kendal Daniels has announced his new home. Monday afternoon we saw Daniels announce he will be staying in state and committing to Oklahoma State University. He is the schools seventh best recruit in the football program’s history according to 247Sports.

The talented safety had been committed to the Aggies since August of 2020. This comes as a slight surprise considering Oklahoma State was not even one of the schools in Daniels original top-four. Those schools were Oklahoma, Clemson, LSU and of course Texas A&M. The Pokes did make his top-12 cut, but didn’t ever really seem like contenders.

Daniels is the top prospect in the state of Oklahoma, and the No. 5 safety in the Class of 2021. He plays for Beggs High School in Beggs, Oklahoma, and currently stands 6’4, 190-pounds. He is your prototypical linebacker/safety hybrid you see trending in todays game. Kendal Daniels will join Aden Kelley, defensive tackle from Thomas, Oklahoma, as the only other four-star in the Cowboys 2021 recruiting class.

In a conference known for flashy offenses Oklahoma State has done a good job at maintaining a solid defense with it. Names like Amen Ogbongbemiga, and Malcom Rodriguez were highlights of the Cowboys defense last year. Grabbing players like Kendal Daniels and Aden Kelley will keep the ball rolling for them in the future.
