Four-Star Safety Landon Hullaby Decommits from the University of Oregon

Since Mario Cristobal left the University of Oregon for the University of Miami we have seen a boat load of recruits decommit . We can add another one to that list with the decommitment of Landon Hullaby. This now makes for the fifth recruit to decommit from the Ducks in the past three days.

Landon Hullaby is a four-star safety out of Mansfield Timberview High School  in Mansfield, Texas. According to ESPN Hullaby is the 25th overall safety in the Class of 2022, and a top-60 prospect in Texas. He has been committed to the Ducks since February of 2021, but will now reopen his recruitment. 29 schools have offered Hullaby, but he has only taken an official visit to Oregon.

He now joins recruits like Cameron Williams, Tanner Bailey, and Kelvin Banks who have decommitted from the Ducks since Monday. This drops them yet another spot in the recruiting class rankings, but they still have a solid lead as the 2nd best in the Pac-12.

I would expect the University of Texas to do whatever they can to get Landon Hullaby in Austin. The Longhorns were in heavy pursuit of Bryce Anderson before he committed to the Aggies, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the Longhorns look to add another DB. Texas Tech could also be a sneaky play here. Current Red Raider commit Jalon Peoples exchanged tweets with Hullaby and Stephon Johnson a few days before his decommitment. The Raiders have been making a lot of sneaky moves since hiring their new head coach, and it seems they are swinging for the fences in year one.
