The Sonny Dykes effect is already taking place. Not even an hour after TCU welcomed in their new head coach the Horned Frogs already started seeing the benefits of his arrival. Former OU & SMU commit Jordan Hudson announced that he will be following Dykes and committed to TCU Monday afternoon.
Jordan Hudson is a four-star wide receiver out of Garland High School in Garland, Texas. According to 247Sports has Hudson ranked as not just a Top-25 recruit in the state but also a Top-150 recruit in the entire Class of 2022. He had offers from all over the country, and considered the Longhorns, Sooners, and even Alabama before making his commitment. Last week he announced along with a long list of other prospects that he would be decommitting from SMU.
This gives the Horned Frogs their fourth commitment for the Class of 2022. A massive wave of decommitments came after Gary Patterson was let go as head coach of the team, thus pretty much leaving TCU empty recruiting wise. Jordan Hudson is the third highest rated receiver since ratings started being tracked.
With the arrival of Sonny Dykes, Ra’Shaad Samples, and Bryan Carrington, TCU should see an influx of talent very soon. Prospects like C.J. Nelson and even Garland teammate Chace Biddle could be some of the next to announce their commitments. Others like Michael Ibukun-Okeyode, Matthew Golden, and D.J. Allen all could be trending back towards TCU as well.
