The Auburn Tigers have had a solid month of July when it comes to the 2022 recruiting cycle. After receiving three commitments in three days to start off July the Tigers landed one of the top receivers in Texas on Tuesday. Jay Fair announced via social media that he will be committing to Auburn University.
Jay Fair is a four-star wide receiver at Rockwall-Heath High School in Rockwall, Texas. This now gives Rockwall-Heath four Power-Five commits on the offensive side of the ball. Josh Hoover who is committed to Indiana, Zach Evans who is committed to Minnesota and Jordan Nabors who is committed to Baylor. According to ESPN, Fair is the 53rd overall receiver in the Class of 2022, and 57th overall in the state of Texas. He is currently 5’11, 175-pounds and also competes in track and field for the Hawks.
He held over 30 offers from schools like Arizona State, Georgia, and Minnesota. During the month of June Jay Fair took three official visits to Florida, TCU and Auburn. I asked what stood out the most about the Auburn Tigers and Fair said,
“The opportunity to play early and the blueprint for the offense they want to run fits my style of play.”
It looks like new head coach Bryan Harsin’s game plan is already looking pretty solid to recruits. Auburn now has their top three highest rated recruits in this class on the offensive side of the ball. Fair joins four-star quarterback Holden Geriner, and three-star tight end Micah Riley-Ducker.
