J.T. Daniels Granted Immediate Eligibility at University of Georgia

Ex-USC Trojan, J.T. Daniels broke via Twitter today that he has received a waiver granting him immediate eligibility at the University of Georgia.

According to 247Sports J.T. was a 5-star prospect and the No. 2 overall pro style quarterback in the class of 2018. Daniels started as a true freshman in 2018 for the Trojans throwing for 2,672 yards, 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

This gives him three years left of eligibility after suffering a season ending knee injury in the first game of 2019 for USC. After going down to injury Daniels was replaced by true freshman Kedon Slovis, who would throw for 3,502 yards, 30 touchdowns and just nine interceptions. After Slovis’ record setting freshman season at USC, Daniels would enter the NCAA transfer portal on April 16th, 2020.

J.T. Daniels is now expected to compete for the starting job against Wake Forest graduate transfer Jamie Newman, along with Stetson Bennett, D’wan Mathis and incoming 4-star QB Carson Beck. Even though the Bulldogs are moving on from four year starter Jake Fromm, Even though the Bulldogs are moving on from four year starter Jake Fromm, they should be more than ready to compete for the SEC again in 2020.

Georgia’s quarterback situation is going to be in great hands for the next several years. As mentioned earlier, Daniels still has three years remaining of eligibility at the University of Georgia. Carson Beck is a 4-star quarterback and the 9th best pro style quarterback in the class of 2020. To make things even better, Brock Vandagriff, the No. 2 dual threat QB in the class of 2021 and 5-recruit, committed to the University of Georgia back in January.
