Lewisville High School Runs All Over Timber Creek High School 53-24

Lewisville High School beats Timber Creek High School

Week 2 is finally among us, and we are excited to be watching two teams we actually got to see in Week 1. Our third game of the year took us to the Keller ISD Athletic Complex where Timber Creek High School hosted Lewisville High School. The Lewisville Farmers are coming off a dominant win over Arlington Bowie, and are once again without four-star wide receiver Armani Winfield

The Falcons would be the first to score after kicking a field goal on the opening drive of the game. Once Lewisville received the ball, it wouldn’t take long for the offense to get into scoring position. Damien Martinez would start his monster day off by rushing in the first touchdown of the game on an eight-yard run. Timber Creek would run 10 plays to net only two total yards before punting the ball back to the Farmers.

This is when Damien Martinez really starts to break loose. On the next drive he accounted for 47 of the 54 offensive yards including a 36-yard touchdown run to put Lewisville up 14-3. The Falcons would once again come up scoreless and be forced to punt the ball. Sophomore quarterback Ethan Terrell would complete an 18-yard pass to Brent Allen before the 1st quarter would end. This set up the Farmers at the Falcons 34-yard line. Two plays later Martinez would score his third touchdown of the first half on a 27-yard scamper to the end zone.

In the blink of an eye Lewisville was able to take a 22-3 lead, and there were still over 11 minutes left in the first half. The Farmers defense would actually force the Falcons to lose field position on their next drive before punting the ball. Jaydan Hardy would have a small return setting up Lewisville near midfield. Senior wide receiver Kye Stone would come down with a 34-yard pass and put the Farmers inside the red zone. As you would expect at this point, Damien Martinez would then punch in a nine-yard touchdown a few plays later.

Senior quarterback Jacob Porter would connect with junior wideout Maddox Allbritton for 22-yards. Senior running back Alec Souimaniphanh would break off a 17-yard run on the very next play. Suddenly the Timber Creek offense was starting to wake up finally. Lonnie Johnson would come down with a 15-yard pass from Porter bringing the Falcons inside Lewisville’s 15-yard line. Souimaniphanh would bulldoze himself in for the three-yard touchdown to bring the score to 29-10 with 5:48 left in the 2nd quarter.

Lewisville’s offense was still red hot, and would not be stopped. Damien Martinez would be the definition of a workhorse as he would see seven touches on the next drive, and turn those into 60-yards and a touchdown. That would give us a score of 36-10, which continued into halftime.

Ethan Terrell would have the ball in his hands a lot more in the second half, and we would see a much slower Lewisville offense. We wouldn’t see another touchdown scored till 42 seconds remained in the 3rd quarter. Terrell would find Jaydan Hardy on a quick pass which Hardy would then take down the field, lateral to offensive tackle Tahj Martin as he was falling to the ground, and Martin would take in the score. Quite an amazing play, and easily was the nail in the coffin for the Falcons.

On the next drive Timber Creek would find the endzone, but it would be too late. The score was already too out of hand at 46-17, and Lewisville’s running attack would be too much to stop. Even with Damien Marteniz out of the game, junior running back Xavier Lewis would still find his way into the endzone. Jacob Porter and Lonnie Johnson would connect on a 19-yard touchdown pass before the game ended pushing the final score to be 53-24.

Ethan Terrell finished with 212 passing yards and a touchdown. For Jacob Porter the senior quarterback finished with 256 passing yards and two touchdowns. Lonnie Johnson had another big performance with 11 catches for 118-yards and a touchdown, and Maddox Allbritton finished with six catches, 92-yards and a touchdown as well. Kye Stone led all Lewisville receivers with four receptions for 101-yards. Jaydan Hardy played well on both sides of the ball finishing with a 44-yard reception, and seven total tackles.

There is no question who the player of the game would be though, and that is Lewisville running back Damien Martinez. The future Oregon State Beaver had 21 carries for 255 rushing yards and five touchdowns in the first half alone. He proved to be a man amongst boys, and pretty much single handedly beat the Timber Creek Falcons by himself. Be sure to check out our second game of Week 2 as Mansfield High School hosts their inner-city rivals Mansfield Summit.
