It has been one crazy week in college football and it does not look like it will be slowing down anytime soon. Two days after decommitting from the University of Oklahoma, five star QB Malachi Nelson has found a new home.
In a not so surprising move Nelson announced via social media that he would be committing to the University of Southern California. He was quoted in saying
“Lincoln Riley is the guy I committed to…we have a special relationship that goes beyond football, and he’s the guy I want to play for.”
Malachi Nelson becomes Riley’s first commit at USC which should be a tale of things to come. It should be expected that many, MANY, more recruits join this wave in the future. Even all the way in Norman, Oklahoma Riley has been one of the best recruiters in California.
According to 247Sports Nelson is the No. 1 player in California, the No. 2 QB in the nation and the No. 2 prospect in the entire Class of 2023. He plays for Los Alamitos High School in Los Angeles, California alongside some of the best talent in California.
If his commitment stands he will be the 2nd best quarterback to ever commit to the Trojans behind Matt Barkley back in 2009. This give Riley two of the five best recruits to land at USC with the potential to land a ton of other talented recruits very soon.
