No. 1 JUCO CB De’Jahn Warren Flips from Georgia to Jackson State

De'Jahn Warren

There are always surprises on National Signing Day, and that is one of the reasons it is such a fun event year in and year out. On Wednesday though we had one of the biggest flips in recent memory after De’Jahn Warren announced where he will be playing ball. Warren announced early on Wednesday via Instagram that he will be attending Jackson State University to be coached by Deion Sanders

Roughly four months before today’s National Signing Day announced he would be committing to the University of Georgia. He had offers from schools like Penn State, Tennessee, and Oklahoma along with a handful of other programs.

Regarded as a four-star prospect, Warren played football for Lackawanna College his freshman year where he was named an All-American. The Tigers are getting a 6’0, 175-pound physical cornerback who could even be able to play safety down the road. Either way this is a prospect that will make an instant impact for the Tigers and Deion Sanders football team.

Head coach Deion Sanders said Warren’s No. 1 goal currently is to get to the NFL and he believes Jackson State has the staff to do so. Jackson State has Dennis Thurman at defensive coordinator who has had DC stints with the Bills, Jets, and even in the AAF. Thurman coached defensive back greats like Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie, and Stephon Gilmore

Former NFL cornerback Kevin Mathis will be the defensive backs coach for Jackson State as well. Lets not forget Coach Primetime is a Hall of Fame cornerback himself who will offer tons of wisdom as well.

Warren stated he could not turn down the opportunity to be coached by amongst the greats. This of course is a huge win for Deion Sanders and Jackson State University as a whole. This is JSU’s second four-star commitment for this class, including Sanders son Shedeur Sanders.
