The No. 2 team in the nation, North Shore High School, faced off against Summer Creek High School down in Humble, Texas. As you might imagine things got ugly pretty quickly for Summer Creek. DeMatrius Davis scored first on the ground, then through the air twice to build a quick 24-0 lead.
With under a minute left in the first quarter Davis connected with Charles King on a 75-yard touchdown. The Mustangs would then force a quick turnover on downs on the Bulldogs next possession. North Shore would only need one play to strike again to build a 31-0 lead. Shadrach Banks showed why he is a four-star recruit taking a rush 43-yards to the house.
The Bulldogs were able to force a fumble in the red zone, but ultimately gave the ball right back after a three and out. DeMatrius Davis showed his mobility on the next drive taking it himself for 43 yards down the field. The very next play resulted in a 12-yard end around odd to Shadrach Banks for a touchdown.
After a dominant first half the North Shore Mustangs lead Summer Creek 38-0.
With such a large lead the Mustangs started to flex their depth in the second half. On the opening drive Davis completed a 53-yard pass to five-star cornerback, Denver Harris. The next play Jacoby Davis would score on a quick screen pass from Dematrius Davis. That would be the last time we see the future Auburn Tiger in this game.
Aubrey Broussard would step in at quarterback to essentially help run the clock out for North Shore High School. Late in the third quarter Da’Veon Ford would score his first touchdown of the night on a seven-yard rush. A few drives later Damon Ford would get his first touchdown of the night as well, bringing the lead to a whopping 58-0.
Sadly Summer Creek would be unable to put up any points on the night, and our final score would be 58-0. The Mustangs will face King High School at home next Friday night and will look to remain unbeaten. Summer Creek High School will look to bounce back on the road against West Brook High School.
