It was just another day at work for the North Shore Mustangs as they crushed the Humble Wildcats 55-6. Making things even worse, it was Humble High School’s homecoming game.
It only took one offensive snap for North Shore to get on the board. After the wind helped push a Wildcats punt backwards, Dematrius Davis completed a 35-yard touchdown pass to David Amador. Just a few plays later Davis would complete his second touchdown pass of the night to Charles King.
If you didn’t know, North Shore has talent all over the field though. Texas A&M commit Denver Harris came down with his first interception of the night, giving the Mustangs the ball right back. The Mustangs other Aggies commit, Shadrach Banks, took Dematrius Davis’ pass 58-yards for the touchdown to extend their lead to 21-0.
By the end of the first half North Shore High School would have a 28-0 lead over Humble High School. Shadrach Banks would score his second touchdown on a 6-yard run, and the rest was pretty much history.
The final score would be 55-6 as Jeremiah Prince Knott, Humble’s quarterback, was able to score a 7-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Really the only bright spot for the Wildcats was the performance from their running back X’Zavier Sydney. He finished the night with 25 carries for 111 yards.
Dematrius Davis barely broke a sweat completing 15 of his 17 pass attempts for 327 yards and four touchdowns. North Shore’s receiving split the work between Charles King and Shadrach Banks.
As a team the Mustangs had over 615 yards of total offense, compared to Humble’s 232 yards of total offense. Next week the North Shore takes on Kingwood High School who are 0-6 on the season.
