The University of Oklahoma has a few years until it will be a part of the SEC but they sure aren’t waiting to ramp up their recruiting efforts. Sunday afternoon five-star wide receiver Brandon Inniss announced that he will be committing to the Sooners via CBS Sports Live. This is now already the Sooners 3rd five-star commitment for the Class of 2023.
Brandon Inniss is a five-star receiver that plays for American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is not just a five-star recruit, but the No. 1 wide receiver in the entire Class of 2023. According to 247Sports he is currently the No. 3 recruit in the state of Florida & the No. 9 prospect in the ‘23 class.
He gets to join an already offensively loaded ‘23 Sooners recruiting class. Five-stars Malachi Nelson & Makai Lemon out of Los Alamitos High School are already in the boat for Lincoln Riley. Inniss also joins Treyaun Webb & Luke Hasz who are both Top-3 in their positions.
This is great news for Sooner fans for many reasons. The biggest my eyes though is the receiver depth in the Class of 2022 for Oklahoma. Currently there is literally none. Adding the No. 1 wide receiver in the Class of ‘23 obviously gives them talent on the way.
Also I think it is fair to point out that the Sooners have two commits from Florida, two from California, & one from Colorado. Going out of the state and snagging the elite talent from other states are how places like Alabama, Ohio State & Clemson stay on top.
