We knew Patrick Mahomes was a multi-sport athlete, but who knew he would be getting a baseball contract while playing in the NFL.
Monday afternoon news broke that the Kansas City Chiefs and Superbowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes, came to an agreement on a new contract extension. Not just any regular contract extension though. A 10 YEAR extension.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted out that the two parties have agreed on an extension for Mahomes to be tied to Kansas City through the 2031 season. He will be 37 years of age by the time this new contract is finished.
It is reported that the deal is worth $450 million in total over the next 10 years. There is an injury guarantee of $140 million and there will NOT be a percentage of the salary cap tied to the contract like reported earlier. This not only make for the largest and richest deal in NFL history, but this is the richest deal in American Sports history.
