Penn State shouldn’t have to worry about finding a quarterback after Sean Clifford. The Nittany Lions just landed their second quarterback of the 2022 recruiting cycle. After having four-star Beau Pribula commit last August the Lions now have a commitment from four-star Drew Allar.
Drew Allar is the No. 10 pro-style quarterback in the Class of 2022, and 10th best player in Ohio. He has an impressive frame for a high school prospect as he is already listed at 6’5, 220-pounds. Allar plays for Medina High School in Medina, Ohio and helped the Battling Bees to a 6-4 record last year.
Schools like Michigan, Texas A&M and Washington were some of the 23 schools interested in Allar. Notre Dame, Michigan and of course Penn State were amongst the leaders of the pack in his recruitment. If Drew Allar does stick with his commitment, and signs with the Nittany Lions he will become their highest rated quarterback in the James Franklin era.
The Nittany Lions currently have the No. 5 recruiting class for ‘22 and the 2nd best in the Big-Ten. Drew Allar’s commitment now gives them eight pledges in the class. They are lead by four-star wide receivers Mekhi Flowers and Kaden Saunders. As mentioned before Beau Pribula is the second quarterback in this class, and should provide great competition for Allar.
