One of the most coveted high school prospects of all time is on the move again. Quinn Ewers decided to opt-out of his senior year of high school and graduate early. With that he went to Ohio State a year earlier than expected, and reclassified into the Class of 2021.
After being one of the latest 2021 recruits to get to Columbus, and having such a giant learning curve at Ohio State, Ewers saw pretty much no playing time. This shouldn’t have been too surprising to many as the Buckeyes quarterback room was one of the deepest even before Ewers reclassified into 2021.
Nevertheless Quinn Ewers is now looking elsewhere for his college career. He was once committed to the University of Texas who is on the rumored short list for Ewers talents. Other schools like Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and South Carolina have been rumored in the mix as well.
Quinn Ewers was once committed to the University of Texas, but decommitted back in October of 2020. The Longhorns seem to be the favorites to land his talents once again but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him land elsewhere. Texas had a quarterback controversy at the beginning of this year without Ewers on the roster. They also have Maalik Murphy committed currently too which would leave him as an odd man out most likely.
Coming out of Southlake Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas; Quinn Ewers was the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2022 for a long time. He was one of six recruits ever to get a “perfect” 1.000 recruiting grade. Names like Vince Young, Jadeveon Clowney, and Rashan Gary are all names on that list.
