The Los Angeles Rams continue to lock in the pieces they view as important parts of their future. Just nine days after signing Jalen Ramsey to a 5yr/$105M mega-deal, and eight days after signing Cooper Kupp to a 3yr/$43M extension, it is now Robert Woods turn to get paid.
The extension will keep Robert Woods with the Rams through the 2025 NFL season, and is worth $65 million over that timespan. $32 million of the contract is guaranteed, and has a maximum value of $68 million. This now puts Woods in line to make $16.25M season, making him the 10th highest paid receiver currently.
Since coming into the league, Robert Woods has been one of the most underrated weapons in the NFL. Woods was a star receiver at USC, and finished his career with 46 total touchdowns. He was a second round pick back in 2013, and was originally drafted by the Buffalo Bills.
He played four seasons with the Bills and accumulated 2,451 yards and 12 touchdowns before signing with the Los Angeles Rams in 2017. Since then he has caught 238 passes for 3,349 yards and 13 touchdowns for LA. He also has managed 298 yards rushing with two rushing touchdowns.
During Week 1 vs the Dallas Cowboys, Robert Woods finished the night with six catches for 105 yards, 90 of which came after the catch. This shouldn’t come as a surprise as Woods was tied with Bucs receiver Chris Godwin for first (608) in yards after the catch. The Rams key offensive pieces are now pretty much all locked in long term, and can focus on finding their way back to the Super Bowl.
