Following their comeback victory over the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday, the Tennessee Titans had three players and five staff members test positive for COVID-19. Additionally one other player tested back positive for the Titans, though no one on Minnesota has tested positive.
Both organizations postponed in-person activities at their facilities for further testing and contact tracing.
Early this morning however, the NFL announced that the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Tennessee Titans game will be postponed and pushed to a further date. The game is now set to be played on a Monday night or possibly even a Tuesday night depending on the Titans test results.
This is the first time the NFL has faced a COVID-19 outbreak since opening their season last month. There had been hardly any positive tests during the past three weeks of the season and the preseason. The Atlanta Falcons have been the only team with a player to be put on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
