The Tampa Bay hype train is full steam ahead and just added more fuel to the fire.
Thursday afternoon ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Buccaneers and LeSean McCoy have agreed to terms on a one year deal. The deal is worth just over $1 million.
Last year in his only season with the Chiefs, LeSean McCoy rushed the ball for 465 yards and four touchdowns on 101 carries. While those aren’t “Shady McCoy” numbers, he obviously can still find a role in an offense.
“He’s very excited to play with established vets like Brady and Gronk in trying to win another championship.”
Drew Rosenhaus
LeSean McCoy was phased out of the Chiefs offense during the postseason, and with the addition of Clyde Edwards-Helaire through the draft, the writing was on the wall for the former All-Pro. He had made it publicly known that he would be looking to sign with a contender in order to play for another championship ring.
In his career McCoy has rushed for 11,071 yards, 73 touchdowns and rushed for 4.5 yards a carry. He was also a threat in the receiving game with 503 catches for 3,797 and 16 touchdowns. Hopefully Shady can add to those numbers now that he is in Tampa Bay.
