Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sign Leonard Fournette on a 1-Year Deal

In a somewhat surprising move we saw the Jacksonville Jaguars cut ties with former 1st round pick Leonard Fournette on Monday. Like many expected though, it sure didn’t take long for him to find a new home.

And he is only going to have to make a three hour move.

Ian Rapoport tweeted that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had signed the former Jacksonville Jaguar, and looks to add even more weapons to this already stacked offense. In one offseason the Bucs have added Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, LeSean McCoy, Tristan Wirfs, and now Leonard Fournette.

Leonard Fournette and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers agreed to a one year deal worth up to $3.5 million. Adding the former first round pick does come with some issues though. As mentioned, the Bucs signed LeSean McCoy earlier this year, and recently have named Ronald Jones the starting running back. Plus they drafted two running backs this year, one being highly touted KeShawn Vaughn from Vanderbilit.

With that being said, Tom Brady will have no shortage of weapons in his new offense. After this recent signing the Bucs could be looking at a starting line up of Tom Brady, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Gronk/O.J. Howard and now Leonard Fournette/McCoy/Ronald Jones. On paper this could be one of the deepest offenses we’ve seen in recent memory.
