If Tennessee fans weren’t already excited about their No. 2 overall 2021 recruiting class, they have to be following Sunday’s commitment. Kaidon Salter is 247Sports No. 4 dual threat quarterback in the 2021 recruiting cycle, and he announced he will be committing to the University of Tennessee Sunday afternoon.
Salter is a junior at Cedar Hill High School in Cedar Hill, TX. According to 247Sports he is the No. 9 player in Texas, and led the Longhorns to a 9-3 record last season. He held offers from UCLA, Michigan State, Baylor and more, but chose to commit to the Volunteers.
Tennessee was the last school Kaidon Salter could visit before COVID-19 shut down the visiting process, and has been favored to win his commitment for a while now. The Vols werent focused on any other quarterback but Salter, which was another reason why he felt Tennessee was the right choice.
After a rocky 0-2 start, the Volunteers were able to finish 8-5 last season and 5-3 in SEC play. While they are still ways away from contending with Alabama, Georgia or LSU, strong recruiting classes like this one are huge steps in the right direction.
