Tennessee Mounts a Comeback Against Minnesota Wins 31-30

Vikings

Once again the Minnesota Vikings have let down their fan base, this time by failing to hold onto a two score lead vs the Tennessee Titans. Derrick Henry and Stephen Gostkowski helped push the Titans to 3-0 after a huge 3rd quarter.

During the first half, it was pretty much all Minnesota. Tennessee scored first on two Gostkowski field goals, but Minnesota would be the first team to reach the endzone.

The Titans came out of halftime ready to roll. After being down 17-9 at halftime, Tennessee would actually head into the 4th quarter with a 25-24 lead. Derrick Henry would rush for two touchdowns in just two minutes and completely flip the script on the game.

Kirk Cousins would try his best to keep the Vikings afloat by responding back with a touchdown drive of their own. Cousins completed a three-yard pass to Kyle Rudolph, who made what looked like the play of the game, using only one hand to haul in the reception.

Tennessee’s defense stiffened up when it mattered most though, not allowing the Vikings to score for the rest of the game. Stephen Gostkowski made his career high 6th field goal to push the Titans over the Vikings, 31-30.

Ryan Tannehill would finish the day with 321 passing yards and an interception. Since A.J. Brown was ruled out with a knee injury, the Titans looked to Kalif Raymond to lift their passing attack. Raymond led the way with three receptions for 118 yards. Derrick Henry rushed the ball 26 times for 119 yards and two touchdowns.

Dalvin Cook had a career day with 181 rushing yards and a touchdown, as well as two receptions for 18 yards. Justin Jefferson also broke out for the Vikings with seven receptions for 175 yards and a touchdown.

The Minnesota Vikings are still looking for their first win of the season as they take on the 0-3 Houston Texans at NRG Stadium. Tennessee will take on the 3-0 Pittsburgh Steelers in Nashville.
