After nearly missing out on landing a QB in the ‘21 recruiting cycle Manny Diaz made sure to get ahead of the game this year. The Miami Hurricanes just landed one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the Class of 2022. Four-star quarterback Kaden Martin just announced his decision to commit to the University of Miami.
Kaden Martin is a four-star quarterback out of Knoxville, Tennessee. He plays football and baseball for Knoxville Catholic High School. Coming in at 6’4, 205-pounds Kaden already has the size to play at the college level. It also helps that he is the son of former NFL quarterback Tee Martin. Not only is Martin one of the best quarterbacks in the nation he is currently ranked as the top baseball prospect in Tennessee.
Being projected as a top MLB Draft selection hasn’t stopped schools pursuing him to play football though. Alabama, Arizona State, USC and Coastal Carolina were just a few of his 16 offers to play quarterback. His final schools were Auburn, Miami, Florida, Arizona State and Texas A&M.
This now gives Miami their third commitment in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Martin is the first on the offensive side of the ball. In their 2021 class the Hurricanes were able to land four-star wide outs Romello Brinson, Jacolby George and Brashard Smith. The No. 5 pro-style quarterback Jake Garcia also committed to the Hurricanes back in December.
