The Trojans 2022 recruiting class got a little stronger Saturday afternoon. Just a few weeks after landing the No. 1 cornerback in the nation, Domani Jackson, Clay Helton is back adding to his defense. Three-star linebacker, Ty Kana, announced he will be committing to USC via Twitter.
Ty Kana is an inside linebacker for Katy High School down in Katy, Texas. The Katy Tigers are one of the nation’s best high school football power-houses. Katy High School is coming off a 51-14 victory of Cedar Hill High School to claim their 9th state title. The Tigers defense has studs all over it including Malick Sylla, Bobby Taylor, and Hunter Washington.
In total Kana held 12 offers from schools like Colorado, Baylor, and Washington. Last recruiting cycle we saw the Trojans land four-star running back, and Ty Kana’s teammate, Brandon Campbell. While the Trojans were down scouting Campbell they also extended an offer to Kana.
USC had huge commitments on the defensive side of the ball last year. Not only did they land the No. 1 player in the entire class of 2021 in Korey Foreman; they also landed four-star outside linebacker Raesjon Davis. Four-star studs like Prophet Brown, and Jay Toia are on their way too. The future is looking brighter and brighter for the Trojans, now it is on Clay Helton to tie it all together.
