The Dykes effect has taken full force in Fort Worth already. Monday morning we saw Rockwall-Heath quarterback Josh Hoover announce he will be flipping his commitment from Indiana to TCU. This move was rather shocking and comes on the heels of TCU reportedly hosting Quinn Ewers on a visit. It looks like TCU had their eyes on a different DFW quarterback prospect instead.
Josh Hoover is a three-star quarterback out of Rockwall-Heath High School in Rockwall, Texas. He is currently the 33rd best quarterback in the Class of 2022, and a top-75 prospect in the state of Texas according to 247Sports. Josh was invited to the Elite 11 regionals and plays baseball for Rockwall-Heath as well.
Back in June we saw Hoover commit to Indiana University joining their surging recruiting class. Just shortly before his commitment he received a prediction from 247Sports analyst Danny West that he would end up at SMU. This is most likely where Hoover and TCUâs current staff actually first began their relationship.
TCUâs recruiting class has been improving rapidly since hiring Sonny Dykes. In just one week they have received four commitments, and jumped over 30 spots in the recruiting class rankings. It should also be expected for TCU to land several more big time recruits very soon. I have personally talked to a few that should be a solid boost to this recruiting class and end the 2022 cycle with a bang.
