Over the past few weeks we have seen a frenzy of quarterbacks announce their commitments to schools. Today was another busy day on the recruiting trail, and it’s the Florida Gators turn to get in on the action. Tuesday night Dan Mullen and the Gators received a commitment from fast-rising quarterback Nick Evers.
Nick Evers is a three-star quarterback for Flower Mound High School in Flower Mound, Texas. While the Jaguars season didn’t go as they hoped (4-6), Evers still had a decent year. He finished with 2,268 yards, 17 touchdowns and just five interceptions while also adding another five touchdowns on the ground. He is currently rated as the No. 20 pro-style quarterback in the class. His frame is impressive for a 17-year old kid standing 6’3, 190-pounds.
He has 25 offers to his name, including from schools like Auburn, Ole Miss and TCU. Most of those offers have come in 2021 as Evers has been gaining a lot of momentum in the recruiting scene. Evers loves the fact that the University of Florida is top-10 in education, while still maintaining a top-10 football program too.
The Gators now have their third commitment of the ‘22 recruiting cycle. Edison High School teammates Francois Nolton and Svyeion Ellis are also both committed to Florida. Since missing out on Cade Klubnik and Ty Simpson Gator fans have to be happy being able to find a Dan Mullen has said he only wishes to bring in one quarterback in the ‘22 cycle, so it looks like Evers will be their guy.
