Three-Star RB Marquise Collins Commits to Duke Over Utah & TCU

Marquise Collins

When it comes to the Duke Blue Devils, you don’t normally think of their football team. That’s what we are here to talk about today however. Sunday morning three-star running back Marquise Collins announced his commitment to the Blue Devils.

Marquise Collins is a 5’10, 190-pound running back out of College Station High School. During his junior season he put up more than 3,000 total scrimmage yards & 42 touchdowns helping the Cougars to a state title game appearance. For his career he has over 4,200 total yards and 60 touchdowns and still has a whole season to add to those totals.

He has over 30 offers but cut his list down to six and took visits to four schools. Those schools were California, Utah, Boston College, and Duke. During his official visit with the Blue Devils Marquise Collins was captured enjoying his time in Durham. Ever since the new coaching staff has arrived Marquise has been one of their prime targets in the 2023 cycle.

This is the Blue Devils fourth best rated recruit in their 2023 class. Semaj Turner is currently the headliner of the class, along with prospects like Paul Davis & Grayson Loftis. Duke now already has 22 commits in the boat for the 2023 cycle with Collins commitment. It looks like Mike Elko is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to finding talent for his new squad.

Collins is considered to be the 11th best running back in the Lone Star state but I truly think he is as underrated as they come. He has the ability to do everything you want in a three down back, and plays a lot bigger than listed. Even his listed height is something I believe scouts have looked too much at; it obviously hasn’t caused him any issues in one of the toughest divisions in high school football.
