Four ⭐️ WR Gatlin Bair Commits to Boise State! 🐴

Today, I want to talk about the Boise State Broncos landing their highest rated recruit in program history.
Elite wide out Gatlin Bair announced he will be staying home and committing to Boise State. According to 247Sports he is the No. 9 wide receiver in this cycle, and a Top-35 recruit in the nation. He is the highest rated four-star receiver and just below five-star status according to 247Sports. He was considering other schools like TCU, Oregon and Michigan but decided ultimately to stay home in Idaho.
As I mentioned earlier Gatlin is Boise State’s highest rated commit in school history. Not just that, he is the highest rated recruit to ever come out the state of Idaho. Last season he caught 73 passes for 1073 yards and 18 touchdowns despite seeing TRIPLE coverage some games.
Not only is he an elite wide receiver, Gatlin is also one of the fastest kids in the country. He has recorded a time of 10.18 in the 100M dash which would have placed him 6th in last year’s NCAA national championships. As a junior in high school.

On top of his speed Gatlin honestly it’s a pretty good route runner as well. While watching his highlights, I joked about giving the offensive coordinator props for not just sending him on a streak, every single play. When you’re working with speed like that it’s hard to resist, but if you watch Gatlin’s tape you’d see him show off a solid route tree.
Bair’s recruitment has a little twist to it however. He will be serving a two-year mission trip with his church after graduating high school. That means he won’t be able to make an impact until at least the 2026 season. This is a pretty major curve ball but not anything we haven’t really seen before.
Most recently we’ve seen Tanner McKee go on to have a productive career at Stanford after serving his mission, and probably most notably would be Taysom Hill.
Every team that offered Gatlin sent the offer out AFTER learning about his plans, with one coach even saying “He runs a 10.2, we will take him whenever.”
This gives the Broncos an elite playmaker they haven’t really ever had. I mean he is the best recruit in school history, and the best receiver by a wide margin. He joins a class with only 11 commits now that ranks just inside the Top-100. Boise, Idaho isn’t the easiest place to recruit in so keeping a talent like this home is massive, especially when battling names like Michigan, Oregon and Nebraska.
I believe Boise State is going to have another great season, and Taylen Green will really put this offense on the map, so hopefully that could sway some other talented kids to join Gatlin and this class. Gatlin said once he gets back from his trip he wats to really help bring exposure to Idaho High School football and help bring Boise State back to being a national program.
But signing day is still about six months away and a lot can change. Do you think Boise State will be able to keep Gatlin locked in and actually see him suit up in the Blue & Orange? Let me know in the comments!
