Oklahoma Sooner fans received some very comforting 4th of July news on Sunday. Four-star defensive lineman Derrick Moore announced his commitment to the Sooners via social media. This makes Moore their 4th highest rated commit thus far.
Derrick Moore is a four-star defensive lineman from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland. He is viewed as the No. 12 defensive lineman in the Class of ‘22 and the 3rd best recruit in the state of Maryland by 247Sports. Moore held offers from Alabama, Oregon, Ohio State and plenty of other top tier names in college football.
The Sooners have quietly been stepping up their gaming on the defensive side of the ball. They currently have commitments from two four-star linebackers Kip Lewis, and Kobie McKenzie. In their ‘21 recruiting class they landed four-star defensive end Clayton Smith and four-star cornerback Billy Bowman too.
Lincoln Riley has always been able to put together lethal offenses year in and year out, but it has been the defense that lets Sooner Nation down. With the additions that they have made as of late I would not be surprised if Oklahoma is back on their feet in the matter of no time on the defensive side of the ball.
